Product Description

The Midland WB150 combines Midland’s most popular desktop weather alert radio, the WR100 and the popular HH50 Pocket Weather Alert Radio in one package. The WR100 is capable of receiving seven National Oceanic & Atmospheric Association (NOAA) channels - each of which receives emergency advisories on tornadoes, floods, severe thunderstorms, civil danger warnings, and more. The WR100 features Specific Area Message Encoding (SAME) reception. SAME allows users to program the radio to sound an alert only when weather and other emergencies threaten a selected county or counties. The technology eliminates all alerts from other areas, so users won't have to perk up their ears each time the alert sounds only to find the emergency is actually 100 miles up the highway. The WR-100 memory system accepts up to 25 counties, so you can monitor a broad swatch of counties at once or restrict it to one. Users have a choice of three warning systems: a 90 dB siren, a voice alert, or a flashing red LED light. Additional features include a clock with an alarm and a snooze button, an emergency power backup that keeps your radio working during power outages or outdoor use, and external antenna and alert jacks. The Midland HH50 Pocket Weather Alert Radio is the ultimate in straight-forward, simple access to emergency information. The Midland HH50 is built with all solid-state circuitry mounted on a rugged, printed circuit board to provide you with reliable and trouble-free performance for years to come. The pocket-sized Midland HH50 radio broadcasts all hazards alert weather brought to you by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), for around-the-clock severe weather information. For added safety, this unit has an automatic alert system that turns it on in event of dangerous weather or civil emergencies, so you don't miss anything crucial.

5THE UNIT WORKS
By B. ENG
We've been getting some pretty rough weather here in NC. I purchased these so on the rare ocassion that we get a tornado, we can be forewarned. These radios do the trick. I set them up for our county and all the surrounding ones. When the alarm goes off, I listen to the alerts. Mostly they are for severe thunderstorms, so far. We leave the unit on 24/7, but I've realized that the alarm NEVER has gone off while we are sleeping. I am hoping it's because we coincidentally haven't had bad weather during that time and not due to any alarm suppression. That's the time I mainly bought the units for.........when we are asleep.

5Reliable and trustworthy.

We use the full-size unit at work for a reason. We need reliable, early warnings. I haven't used the hand-held camping yet because of the cold weather, but it picks up the local broadcast just fine. We live in "Tornado Alley" and a good weather radio is a must have item.
